DECAL Scholars approved CDA Training Scholarships recipients can apply to receive POWER-ED payments as well. The program is slightly different and an application is required. More information and the application can be found here.
Students utilizing DECAL Scholars Academic Scholarships and CDA Scholarships programs at the same time may not receive POWER-ED payments through both programs – only one POWER-ED payment per semester can be received.
If you continue to receive Academic Scholarships from DECAL Scholars, you will continue to receive POWER-ED $1,000 payments each semester in which you are enrolled and continue to receive Academic Scholarships, for as long as the POWER-ED program is available.
The following credentials will automatically receive POWER-ED each semester they are approved and receiving Academic Scholarships:
Yes, POWER-ED is considered taxable income. You will receive an IRS Form 1099 as required and must report the Incentives payment as income on your tax return.
